This is our family terrier Pickle. I had hoped to capture a snapshot of his personality. His confrontational and protective pose in this composition masks his kind nature. I wanted to give the painting an almost timeless quality and convey the feeling of a carefree summers day. Above all I simply wanted to make a painting that was engaging and interesting.
