Callanish is a concertina artist’s book of the Callanish stones in Lewis. The format is appropriate to the content as it can stand freely like the stones. I collected the image painting en plein air whilst travelling in Lewis. I made 3 collagraph plates the front, back and main body of the book. I inked up the plates a la poupee with all the colours at once. The result is that although I have made an edition of 10, each edition is subtly different.

This is a collagraph print of a view in Lewis across to the mountains of Harris. I collected the image painting en plein air whilst travelling in Lewis in my camper van. I particularly liked the squall of wild weather speedily crossing the landscape. Typical Lewisian weather. The sun followed after.
