Scurdie Ness is a headland located on the South side of the River Esk estuary. The lighthouse was built in 1870 following numerous shipwrecks and loss of life round the mouth of the estuary. From the lighthouse there is a great view of Montrose and the coast.

Rutledal, Norway is a small village near the mouth of Sognefjorden. A peaceful, sheltered pontoon after a long day's sailing in our Cornish Shrimper at the start of our voyage which covered the length of Sognefjorden.
