This painting is about the incredible light on the Outer Hebrides and the contrast in both light and colour brought about by the ever changing weather. In particular the painting is about the moment I came to the crest of the hill above Luskentyre and saw the storm clouds lifting over the sea, revealing the sun in the late afternoon, and how the light shone throught the mist still rolling over the hills in the foreground.
