I mainly use watercolour in my work as it is perfect for capturing the very essence of the landscape. I like to exploit the unpredicatability of the medium to create the feeling of a place and recently my work has moved further away from traditional watercolour methods to combine watercolour with other media. Although mostly I paint, I also love to draw, use printing processes such as dry point and create ceramic pieces.

I am passionate about nature, the outdoors, landscapes, gardens and heritage and Scotland, in particular the Outer Hebrides, continues to be the place I love most in the world. The changable weather, sun shining through gaps in the cloud, eagles above, turquoise waters and stunning beaches all inspire me and I can't imagine a time when I will not be enthralled by the beautiful landscapes the islands offer.
