Primarily I work with acrylic paint and ink, collage and mixed media. The acrylics are applied with rollers, pieces of shaped wood, card and any found materials. Collage materials comprise of torn or shaped tissue paper, newsprint, and magazine illustrations. I find it easier to cut out realistic boat shapes with a pair of scissors than draw them. Details are also added with oil and chalk pastels, pen and ink. 

Following retirement as a Primary School Headteacher I now spend compelling time seeking subjects for my work that can be turned into paintings in my studio.

I have been passionate about painting all my life continually developing my style of vibrant impressionist landscapes. 

Boats and harbours, landscape, including my native Shropshire, town and cityscapes all provided inspiration for my impressionist style.
