I am a graduate of Gray’s School of Art (Painting) and the University of Aberdeen. I paint, photograph, and print, usually figuratively and narratively, in a variety of media. Subject matter varies but tries to reflect the constructed reality we as individuals live in. I question my own and other individuals’ perceptions of our own positions in society, and our transient nature in the world around us.
I want to encourage people to react on an emotional level, to make them think about things they might not otherwise think about, to make them ask questions and to provoke dialogue. The starting point is often an idea formed by crossing two or more news stories or human situations. My sources include sketches, movie clips, my own photography, magazines, television and imagination.
