I get my inspiration and ideas from places, weather and nature. The character and mood is very specific and that is what I aim to pin down. I like exploring the boundaries between realism and abstraction and use the power of colour and shape to express atmosphere and to recreate the feeling of a fleeting moment on a walks, visits or just looking out of my studio window.  I work mainly in oils, sometimes water colour or screen print, but the medium is secondary to the desire to explore an idea.

I studied Graphic Design at Canterbury College of Art and then worked in book publishing as a designer and illustrator. I have painted and drawn all my life and now work in my convrted cow shed studio in the High Weald of East Sussex. I exhibit and sell work in Sussex and Kent through galleries and art fairs.
