Michael Bullen



Biography


Born into a small farming community in North West Lancashire Michael spent many years as a general labourer before returning to College as a mature student Graduating From Edinburgh College of Art in 1993 Michael went on to work as a Glass blower for Chris Cumins studios, Lydney Gloucestershire before becoming an assistant glass painter at Charles Lightfoots & Son, a traditional Stained Glass studio in Manchester. He went on to work for many years in Stained Glass restoration and conservation and while working in the glass conservation department of Lincoln Cathedral became a Prince of Wales Scholar with a specialism in the methods and techniques of vitreous glass painting In 2006 Michael moved to Caithness Scotland to work as technical manager at North Lands Creative Glass. He left in North Lands Creative in 2021 to work as an independent artist and glass technician. He has work in many private collections and teaches glass painting ot both a national and international level.
