I predominantly make work in a Neo-Gothic style. It is my belief in this age of social media and incessant technology that art needs a second Gothic Revival; we should look backwards and appreciate the handmade. Preserving skills that might otherwise die out one day is an important part of my practice. Due to this belief, I practice drawing, printmaking and calligraphy, and hope to branch out into gold leafing in the near future.
I marry this outlook with an appreciation of other Gothic interests; my practice celebrates the macabre, and often has themes of solitude, death, decay and an appreciation of nature, particularly of its darker forms, such as leafless trees, bats, owls and the night.
We should appreciate not just the world around us, but the world that also once was. Time is precious and with climate change scarring our lands so vividly, it is important to preserve, meditate and look back on our history lest we destroy our future.
British Neo-Gothic Artist, Printmaker and Illustrator
I've always loved drawing; since as far back as I can remember I always enjoyed having a pen in my hand and paper in front of me.
I graduated Birmingham City University in 2017 with an MA in Fine art.
Since then, I have continued to make work, as well as take on custom commissions.
I have exhibited my work in shows in Birmingham and London, as well as have my work published in the online zine Wake Up Screaming.
